Quilting with Pearl Cotton Supplies List
Experiment with alternative quilting techniques
using pearl cotton. This glorious thread
comes in a multitude of colors both solid
and hand-dyed. Students will work on a practice
piece using #8 pearl cotton to hand quilt
the “big stitch”, then put #8 pearl cotton
in the bobbin of the machine to quilt “upside
down”, and finally lay pearl cotton on the
quilt’s surface and couch it down by machine!
The techniques learned in this workshop can
become a springboard to your using many fabulous
threads!
Make sure you know how to adjust the bobbin
tension on your machine. Look it up in your
sewing machine manual AND bring the manual
to class! (Some machines have limited success
with bobbin quilting.)
