Piping Hot Curves-Macaroni, half-day class with kit
***
Please note this description and supply list is different from the full-day version of this class. In this half-day version, students work from a pre-cut kit. In the full-day version, students bring their own fabrics.
***

Accent curves with piping! This technique is wonderful for traditional curved patterns and great for contemporary designs. In class, students will learn to make perfect piping and add that piping to the curvy macaroni block. Piping adds pizzazz!

Fabric kit ($8):
Pre-cut kits will be available for purchase in class. They include what is needed for two blocks: handout, background fabric, macaroni fabric, piping fabric strips, piping cording, printed freezer paper

Class organizer please note really HOT irons are essential!

Supplies (If class is held at a conference and sewing machines are provided, items marked with "*" are not needed. Please check to understand if a machine is provided.:
  • Fabric kit as mentioned above
  • Red or orange thread (50 or 60wt cotton ... regular thread)
  • Red or black thin thread OR invisible...A thin thread is preferrable such as YLI #100 silk, Wonderfil Invisafil, Superior Bottom Line, Aurifil 50 wt, or Mettler 60 wt. Instructor will have some YLI #100 available for purchase. Bring what you can find but a thin thread makes the technique easier.
