Octet 13"x 7" (HALF-DAY CLASS)
Learn to stitch with heavy decorative threads through the needle for embellishing and quilting, make 2-color prairie points with stitching and embellishments, and use a foundation for quick, accurate piecing! ... while creating this precious little quilt.

If class is at a conference, classroom machines may be available. Please check with class organizer.

Fabric/thread requirements:
  • background & outer border fabric: fat quarter (zebra in sample, extra needed for binding, not included in class)
  • foundation: 5.5"x 12.5" starched, light-colored fabric
  • prairie point main fabrics: eight scraps at least 4" square plus extra to practice stitching ... PLEASE NOTE that hand-dyed, solid or tone-on-tone fabrics will show off stitching better! www.CherrywoodFabrics.com is a fabulous source for hand-dyed fabrics.
  • prairie point lining fabrics in center of prairie points: at least 3"x 30" piece plus extra to practice stitching (dark brown in sample)
  • inner border (dark brown in sample): at least 6"x 13" piece
  • outer border: included in background yardage
  • 50 or 60wt (regular weight) cotton thread for piecing and bobbin in color to coordinate with background fabric and colors to coordinate with prairie point lining fabric
  • 12wt cotton decorative thread for embellishing prairie points (available for purchase in class)
  • beads for embellishing prairie points (optional)
