My Jewel Box Runneth Over Supply List
This pattern is designed for the advanced
beginner quilter who is ready to tackle
a
few new skills to produce a wonderful
wallhanging.
The possibilities for fabric choices
are
almost endless: fabrics of one color
family,
a gradation from one color to another,
or
an assortment of everything you love.
Just
make sure the background fabric is
in high
contrast to your jewel fabrics. Follow
the
pressing instructions and you’ll find
that
every seam in this quilt nests together
nicely
so piecing is a breeze! I’ve enclosed
triangle
papers you’ll need to assure perfect
half-square
triangles. While quilting and binding
instructions
are not included in this pattern, I
do offer
suggestions for different and interesting
alternatives to the norm.
The following concepts are covered
in this
pattern. Instructions are written so
these
can be learned during the making of
this
wallhanging. (Previous rotary cutting
and
basic piecing experience is helpful.):
using
triangle papers to make perfect half-square
triangles, making prairie points (the
half
jewels protruding into the borders!),
mitering
multiple borders.
Yardages are based on fabric at least 42”
wide (binding, backing, and batting not included)
