This pattern is designed for the advanced beginner quilter who wants to learn how to miter corners on blocks and borders. I have an easy way to accomplish this task to ensure success!
Instructions feature the following:
  • 3 size options
  • Susan’s fail-safe mitering technique
  • Detailed diagrams every step of the way

Supply List: (fabrics based on width of 40” - 44”)

1/4 yd pieces may be LONG quarters (9” X 40”-44”) OR FAT quarters (18” X 20”-22”) unless specifically noted otherwise
  • Main fabric: small 1/4 yd; medium ½ yd; large 1 3/8 yds
  • Sashing: small 1/4 yd; medium ½ yd; large 1 yd
  • Dark shadow: small 1/4 yd; medium 1/3 yd or fat quarter; large 3/4 yd
  • Light shadow: small 1/4 yd; medium 1/3 yd or fat quarter; large 3/4 yd
  • Border fabric: small ½ yd; medium 1 1/4 yds; large 2 1/4 yds
  • (border fabric yardage includes enough for binding)
  • Thread in a shade of the shadows
  • Sewing machine, fresh needles, bobbin
  • Open toe foot for your machine (optional) It’s very helpful when sewing mitered seams!
  • Rotary cutter, cutting mat, and acrylic rulers
  • Pencil or marker that will show on main fabric
  • Tape measure
